PFAS Blood Test (often called a PFAS Serum Panel) is used to measure the concentration of specific "forever chemicals" circulating in your bloodstream. Unlike the environmental lab described previously, which looks at water or soil, a medical lab focuses on human exposure and health risk assessment.

It is usually requested for specific "at-risk" scenarios:

• Known Environmental Contamination: If you live in an area where the local water supply or soil has been flagged by the EPA for high PFAS levels.
• Occupational Exposure: For individuals who work in industries like firefighting (due to aqueous film-forming foam), chemical manufacturing, or textile treatment.
• Persistent Health Concerns: When a patient shows specific conditions like unexplained high cholesterol (dyslipidemia), thyroid dysfunction, or kidney issues that may be linked to toxicant exposure.
• Baseline Tracking: To establish a starting point for someone who is actively trying to reduce their exposure (e.g., after installing high-end water filtration).
